New Years Eve Dinner Buffet

When you arrive at the WestiNext 2012 party tonight the chefs have ensured you remember your last dinner of the year and usher the New Year with endless rounds of delectable treats. Executive Chef Santosh Jori with his able team comprising of Chef Kapil Dubey, Chef Valerio Pachetti and Chef Shamsher have conjured culinary magic to bring to the table a renewal not just of the year but that of an experience one awaits. 

Chef Jori shares, "Every year we try our best to offer the guest an experience they haven't had before. New Years Eve is as good as any festivity where our guests celebrate with their family, friends and the overall take away from this one evening should leave them with one word alone and that would be WOW. Our creative efforts and team  work to make this a WOW factor event in their minds and heart is always the driving force behind the success here at The Westin Pune Koregaon Park. This year we open all our venues on the second floor as one large party WestiNext 2012 and the guests can have complete access to all culinary offers at every dining venue on this floor. Prego will be a venue to look forward to with the new Italian Chef and Kangan with Chef Shamsher, would be living upto its award winning reputation of the best North West Frontier dining on New Years Eve."

Seasonal Tastes - Fresh, imaginative and interactive all day dining  concept serving international buffet, Seasonal Tastes will entice everyone to be adventurous by showcasing the freshest produce and ingredients. It serves delicious ice floating seafood ceviche, garlic and chardonay infused crabs, beer drunken mussels, clams, sun-dried tomato and capers merged octopus, variety of sushi and middle eastern mezze. 

Prego - The fun Italian dining with an a la carte menu serving modern yet authentic flavors and aromas of home cooked Italian cuisine. A combination of Italian and New world wines are served with an eclectic mix of specialty beverages. Chef Valerio Pachetti from Napoli cooks up his special one meter pizza, salmon gravlax -fleur du sel cured salmon in beetroot, honey and orange flavors, homemade gnochhi and pasta with loads of interactive cooking. 


Chef Valerio invites one and all to bring in the New Year with his fresh fruit selection of sorbet and the real home cooked Italian dinner from the land he hails. He shares, "Apart from the authenticity of the cuisine of course our wines will be most sought after, however if you are lucky to get the reservation this New Year Eve at Prego then you will be delighted to see the performance of the night by Iriana coming all the way from Belarus." 

Kangan - Modern, chic and stylish yet understated with a dash of traditional touches, Kangan is the award wining destination for everything north west frontier and hyderabadi cuisine. The culinary artisan, Chef Shamsher Ahmed has Kangan's kitchen wafting aromas of the koftas, biryanis, raan and piping hot kebabs and kulchas.

New Years Party Cocktails

The best party on New Years Eve has certain elements to add up to its success, apart from a good guests repertoire, venue and entertainment, the food & beverage does make or break a party. WestiNext 2012 is geared to make all those elements come alive and especially in the beverage direction. 


The list of elixir of fun seems endless however Chandan Thakur, Food & Beverage Manager at The Westin Pune Koregaon Park was kind enough to share a select preview of the menu. 

First in the line of the cocktail preview is Smoky Martini which is a skilfully prepared variation of Dry Martini with scotch instead of the traditional dry vermouth. Chandan Thakur shares his two bits on this cocktail, "Smoky Martini has smooth and oily initial taste. For best smoky martini experience, use smoky or peated scotch".  Chandan is kind enough to share the recipe, "but that is the only recipe up for grabs" he says "the rest will be served at the WestiNext 2012 party". 
Method:

1. Fill cocktail shaker with ice until half.
2. Add Gin and Scotch Whiskey in ice-filled shaker and shake vigorously.
3. Take chilled martini glass. Strain and pour prepared Gin and whiskey cocktail in it.
4. Twist lemon over the martini to give it lemony essence.
5. Garnish Smoky Martini with Lemon Twist and Serve.

Bollywood Baby

Second we take a sip of Bollywood Baby  and Chandan is quick to share about the reason for its name, "By the mere look of the cocktail one can tell only a Bollywood Diva can be imagined with it and we'd like our guests to have a Diva like experience with it. It is white Godiva chocolate with fresh cream and high on vodka, that too explains the glamour of the cocktail". 

He sums up with a unique Gluhwein which is German for "glow wine". A popular beverage in Europe it is quite an amalgamation of aromatic seasonal spices with mulled wine and has a delicious hot, spiced taste perfect for chilling New Years Eve. 

Chandan adds, "There will be endless rounds of sumptuous spread laid out with these and many such exotic cocktails at the WestiNext 2012 that has venues on the second level of the hotel viz, Prego, Kangan, Seasonal Tastes and Mix@36 and on ground zero level the ever popular Kue Bar commencing from 8 pm. We have organized for our guests, some of the premium brands of alcohol like Absolute Vodka, Ballantine's, Beef Eater and Kingfisher beer. The alcohol would be served on the second floor till 1.30 am. We have set up a special festivity desk to assist you with all your queries related to the 31^st night party and you could reach out on +91 020 6721 0095/96.

The Westin Pune Koregaon Park sweeps Hotelier India Awards 2011

Christmas gifts were delivered a week early at The Westin Pune Koregaon Park with 3 business awards at the 3rd annual Hotelier India Awards 2011 held in Gurgaon recently. Competing with 365 hotels for the coveted laurels, Anuraag Bhatnagar bagged the prestigious General Manager of the Year amongst his contemproraries from the top five hotel chains in India. The Sales & Revenue Person of the Year was bestowed upon Megha Ajgaonkar and the Procurement Manager of the year went to Abhijit Joshi.


A starry evening that was attended by the whos who of the best in hospitality and industry pioneers and trend setters had all astonished at the sweepstakes win of The Westin Pune Koregaon Park. Back at the hotel there was much cheer and galore over the victory run. The entire hotel associates have a renewed sense of pride and joy in them and has only taken the hotel into a higher octane for the upcoming festivities and busy season.

The general manager had his loyal guests, business partners, passionate and driven associates to thank for this honour. According to him the passion and focus to delight every guest and creating a loyalty in them for the brand and hotel has helped them receive these awards. The trees are decorated, the ovens are hot and aromatic, carols are hummed & played, the stockings are up the mantle and holy wreaths on the doors awaiting Santa with his bag full of goodies. The year began with the visit of the most celebrated musician, singer and reigning heartthrob of many females across the globe Bryan Adams while he was on his India tour in February 2011. Then came celebrated artistes like Rob Schneider for Black Dog Comedy Evenings and recently Pitbull for his Planet Pit India tour. Our very own A list stars like Madhuri Dixit, Ranveer Singh, Amrita Rao to Dr. Kiran Bedi, Vishwanathan Anand, Jay Sean, Kailash Kher were pouring in as well.

Mr. Worldwide checks in at The Westin Pune Koregaon Park

After much anticipation from our fans and followers who were eagerly waiting to see their favorite rapper and song writer Pitbull a.k.a Mr. Worldwide since weeks, finally arrived for his Pune leg of the India tour at The Westin Pune Koregaon Park. Pitbull was welcomed with a traditional Indian ritual and met with the General Manager, Anuraag Bhatnagar. He was most popular among the children at the lobby, curiously wondering if their idol would sign their T shirts as a memorabilia. Pitbull was more than happy to sign on the kids cards, T - shirts and pose with them for pictures leaving them with the best memories of him.
